Artist Statement
After acquiring a computer, I discovered graphic software and the world of digital art. I started taking online classes related to graphic software and art. A professional artist in my area was teaching classes on painting, so I signed up to learn traditional art techniques. Now, I blend images together by using a combination of collage, composite, and traditional art methods. By digitally altering the images you are familiar with, I can create unique landscape art to tell a new visual story that opens a world of imagination. |

What is collage and composite art?
Traditional Collage: a technique of composing art by assembling various materials that normally do not go together, like photos, handmade papers, things from nature, and found objects to create something new. Digital collage is visual art with a modern take on traditional collage using a computer and software like Photoshop and Affinity Photo. Photos, scanned items, digital papers and digital brushes are all modern counterparts of components used in traditional collage. Just like traditional collage, digital collage is made of many layers coming together in the creation of an original and unique piece of art. Then what is digital composite art? Digital compositing is a form of visual art that digitally assembles two or more images to make new altered image that blends together, Digital collage is created by layering together virtual image pieces from various sources into a new piece of art that has a common theme but does not create a seamless blend of images. Similar, yet with subtle differences. My art blends composite and collage techniques along with traditional art values to create something original and unique. |
I create surrealism landscapes and space art using graphic software and imagination. I never use AI to design any part of my digital art. Unlike traditional mediums like that take up room for paint and other supplies, I do not need much room. My studio is truly a one-person studio!

Ideas, Upcoming Art and Works In Progress
My other medium is mixed media on canvas. I love combining bits and pieces to give a corroded metallic look. Gear Light is another in my Lighthouse Series. I decided I did not like the colors and decided to make some changes. This is the new Gear Lighthouse. My idea is that this is an alternate world where the "sky" reflects the world theme. There is a portal in the sky opening up into another world, one with a blue sky and a pink-tinged sunset. Passing Through is another space art I was working on. All my imaginary space art is created by digital painting and collage techniques.
