Since I usually post on Thursday and this is Friday, I am obviously late. If you have been reading this blog, you know I talk about life, faith and art. This week has certainly been challenging in all areas. First of all, my mother had major surgery this week, so my attention has been on her and not art. I am also taking an online course related to art and faith. Trying to balance everything and not neglect anything has been a bit difficult.
I am so thankful for the prayers and support of family and friends. I am grateful for the loving guidance from the Lord, working through my online course I am taking and my daily worship time. I am very happy to be at my computer today, able to do some art and attending to necessary tasks.
Is my life now perfect? Of course not. Do I still face challenges related to life, faith and art? Oh yes. During my study time today, the Holy Spirit led me to Proverbs 3: 5 and 6. They are frequently quoted. I even did a sampler years ago with these two verses.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. NLT
Today, two things stood out. The word “trust” and “seek” jumped out at me. What happens if we trust and seek? The Lord will show us what path to take. These verses have now become my new key verses to help me in my faith, art and life walk.
Sometimes life looks like this watercolor I did for a texture background. Colors mixed up, irregular shapes and jagged edge. Nothing perfect or polished. Yet, I kept it, scanned it in and used it in one of my digital collage compositions. To us, life looks jumbled and crazy. That is where the trusting and seeking comes in. God can take our crazy, mixed up days and make something beautiful out of them.
