This week I am sharing a video on playing with color and defeating the need to be perfect. How many times do we compare ourselves to others and feel we will never be as good? How many times do we hold back because from trying something because we know we will never be able to do it? When we fail to even try, we are already defeated.
So go ahead and try something that you have always wanted to do. Just tell that sarcastic, whining, negative inner voice to shut up, that you are going to try, even if the results are not perfect. I joined an artist mentoring program, even though many of the artists were more experienced in both the art world and business world. Had I listened to that negative inner voice; I would not be here today.
If you want to play with color, but just don’t know where to start, just look at nature. Here I picked some photos and one clip art image and sampled the colors in my software program. Now I have 5 different color schemes and all the colors work together! No software or app, no problem. Just grab a blank sheet of paper, your colored pencils/paints or whatever you are using and a photo. Experiment with different colors and combinations until you get a color close to what is in your photo.
