I am thinking of removing my Download page. I have been sharing free downloads over the last five years. Is there any interest in my continuing to offer these free devotional downloads? They are suitable for printing or saving in a file. My idea for offering the downloads was simple: to make available devotions for everyone. Most were 8.5x11, suitable for printing and keeping in a notebook. Some of the composites were 5x7 to 8x10, suitable for framing.
I have also offered free booklets and digital art in the past. If you have thoughts on what you like to see here, I am willing to continue offering free downloads. Comment on the blog or use the email contact form to let me know. Image: shows the 84 free downloads I have posted on my website in only one of my download file folders over the last five years.

Inspiration is a funny thing for me. When given a prompt and asked to create art, my artistic imagination usually disappears. Do you respond to prompts or a theme when creating art, journaling, or any other creative endeavors?
The exceptions to my disappearing imagination and prompts/themes are Winter/Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Images from both of these holidays seem to stimulate my artistic creativity. I can let my imagination run wild with hearts and roses for some very different Valentine art. How many of you are already planning Valentine’s Day and shopping for candy and gifts? I do not have any chocolate for you, but I do have art. My Valentine art is a typical portrayal of red hearts and roses. I have blended traditional images with space art to create unique digital art. No AI involved here! See the images below for a preview. Check out my Art Gallery to see your options for Heart and Roses and Letter to the Heart. I love looking at photos and imagining how I can transform them into completely different scenes. What does an old abandoned barn in a field and a waterlily pond have in common? In my Barn Pond surrealism landscape, they blend together to tell a completely new visual story. One no photographer in the world will ever take because it came from my imagination. No AI, no copying other artists, just my joy in creating something nobody has ever seen before.
I do not do portraits of people or animals. I have tried, but I just cannot connect with this type of art. Nor do I do flowers or create realistic art based on nature. Then what inspires me? I love combining vintage images with landscapes to create something new. While I do not do flower art, I do love adding roses or waterlilies to my surrealism landscapes. Right now, I am working on a composition that deals with the passing of time. To tell this visual story, I start with a photo of a city street that has existed for centuries. To visually illustrate the passage of time, I fill the street with sand. Then, because I love vintage time pieces, I scatter clocks around the street. To add a touch of beauty and nature, I use roses somewhere along the street. A sky filled with stars and nebula give the street an aura of mystery. For an extra touch of mystery, I tuck a wolf lurking somewhere in the scene. What happened to all the people? Why is the sky so different? Where did the wolf come from? It is your story to tell. This is my "passage of time" surrealism landscape that I am working on now. I have started to add some roses that blend in with the side of the buildings. I will probably add more roses somewhere! As for the sky, I have already changed it about three times. Everything here is subject to a redo. Would you like to see the other digital surrealism landscapes based on this theme? Let me know by posting a comment. I started creating cards for my staff, family and friends years before doing digital art. I wanted to design and sell digital papers for scrapbooks. Yes, there really was a time when photos were printed on paper and mounted in photo books! When I was ready to sell my digital papers and cards, the digital era had arrived. Now, I am doing digital surrealism art and loving it. However, I still like to play around with digital papers for backgrounds and an occasional card design. I do not create a complete card with text, only the cover design. I am offering three free downloads that can be used to make cards, postcards or used digitally. Buffalo Plaid Christmas is 7x5 and is my digital version of the Buffalo Plaid pattern. For Unto Us is 4x6 with the same red and black color scheme, this time in an off-set plaid. The final design is Peace on Earth using earth colors against a background of stars. For personal use only. The Christmas downloads are no longer available. |
