What do you do when something you love is taken away from you? Yesterday I went to turn on my computer and nothing happened. I rushed the desktop and monitor in to my neighborhood computer repair shop. Today, the verdict. Both are beyond repair. I am a digital collage artist. No computer and no internet. Yes, I have a smartphone and no, I cannot work on Stupid. (I call my phone “Stupid”, it’s a long story). Not the best of news at any time, but especially not now. So, I can give in to self-pity, despair and fear or I can make another choice. Trust. The funny thing is that my sister had connection problems yesterday. It was the “oh no, I spilled a whole glass of water on my modem and now everything is dead” type of problem. She called me back later and said, “Linda, trust is the word. We have to have trust.” Trust in what? For us, it is the message of hope that is going out all over the world this coming Sunday. Trust in the message of love and of hope that is offered freely. This whole computer thing is giving me a headache. Am I happy with having to get a new computer, monitor and who knows what software I will have to replace? No, I am NOT happy about that, but I am not going to allow worry or fear to rule me. I know in whom I have put my trust and that is enough to get me through breakdowns, social distancing, and whatever else will come my way. My free download this week is called “The Lamb” Size: 8x10 ![]()
