I have always made lists out. I love checking stuff off of my list. It gives me a real sense of accomplishment. In my artist mentoring program, I learned the importance of setting 90-day goals. I listed several goals for January thru March, some major and some minor. I accomplished every one of them. After a reminder that setting 90-day goals was not a one-time event, I came up with another set of goals for July thru September Can you guess what happened for July? Out of all the goals I set, I only did one thing. Failure, or is it? It only becomes failure if I give up. I am going to look at all those goals I set and ask myself: “Are those goals realistic? Am I over-confident in how much I can do? Am I playing it safe in the goals I have set? Did I take in to account my other commitments?” If you are setting some goals, maybe you should ask yourself these questions. Set some goals and be honest in what you choose. Do not make them too simple or too challenging, because you are setting yourself up for failure either way. Yes, I am an artist and my goals are art-related, but goal setting can help you no matter what you do. I have included a PDF download with some art and a blank goal template for you to use. The only difference between 1 and 2 is the art.
