I love creating my digital collage art. When I was working as a registered nurse and on call, I I never knew if I would be off all night or if the phone would ring, calling me to come in immediately. I couldn’t go to sleep because I was afraid I wouldn’t hear the phone ring. To distract myself, I would do something creative on the computer or do my notes for the Bible Study group I taught. I saved almost all of the projects I worked on over the years. As my skills and style developed, I deleted many files. However, some I kept and altered. They went into a folder I named “Abstract and Whimsical” as they were different from my usual digital collage art or faith art. I decided to go with Fine Art America and their line of wall art and other products. For several months I have maintained both sites, with links on this website and on social media. Due to a family member having surgery recently, I had to rearrange my schedule and put things on hold. This caused me to take a look at my art and decide where I wanted to go. I had to decide when enough was enough and stop putting time into art that did not appeal to me as creating imaginary scenes to help people see new possibilities and maybe see their world a little differently. I am not saying that abstract or whimsical art is not worthwhile. I am saying I have to recognize what is best for me as an artist and for everyone that is looking at my art. Is there something in your life that you need to reevaluate? Maybe you are spreading yourself too thin, taking on things you are not meant to be involved in. This could be the time to take a look and say, “Enough is Enough!” ![]()
![]() I love waterlilies. Just looking at them brings a feeling peace. This is a photo I took a couple of years ago. I am offering you a free 6x4 download of this photo as a reminder that sometimes you just need to slow down, reevaluate your life and priorities and maybe let go of some things. Comments are closed.
