Finally, it is time to add some mushrooms. What would a mushroom world be without mushrooms? I collected photos of mushrooms and some vintage clip art mushrooms. If I was doing a traditional collage or mixed media piece, I would use scissors to cut the mushrooms out. Well, I did the same thing digitally, using some of the tools in Photoshop. I “painted” the mushrooms or used gradients to change the colors.
Since this is an altered reality world, any animal I add would have to look a little different. I decided on a giraffe! Again, I took a photo of a real giraffe and “cut” it out. I think he is really cute with wings and fits right in with all the colorful mushrooms. I added colors by using a digital paint brush. My digital collage art is usually a combination of digitally cut photos and digital painting. The giraffe isn’t the only one in this world. Semi-hidden among the mushrooms is another inhabitant. If you would like to see the finished collage, go to the Altered Reality Gallery. Don’t forget to find the other inhabitant there in Mushroom World. I hope you enjoyed a peek into how I create my art and that Mushroom World would be a fun place to visit! |
